About us

Our mission

At THEFT, our mission is to empower individuals and organizations to create systems that work for everyone through inclusive and streamlined design. Our team brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the table.

Our founder began a career in design and strategy consulting over 15 years ago. Throughout their journey, they saw firsthand the impact that a lack of inclusivity and simplicity can have on communities and individuals. Frustrated by the status quo, they decided to take matters into their own hands and founded THEFT.

We believe that true innovation comes from designing for inclusivity and simplifying complexity. Our team is diverse with LGBTQ+, multiracial, neurodivergent, and multinational individuals, which brings unique perspectives and experiences to our work. We understand that the world is not inclusive unless specifically designed to be so, and we are determined to change that.

We are passionate about creating a more equitable future through design. We strive to be a leader in the industry, pushing for real change and leaving behind incremental progress. Join us in our mission to create systems that work for everyone.

Our philosophies

At THEFT, we have a set of guiding principles that inform our approach to design, research, and strategy consulting. These philosophies are rooted in the belief that true innovation comes from designing for inclusivity and simplifying complexity.

One of our core philosophies is to keep things simple. We believe that most systems work best when they are streamlined and straightforward, rather than overly complex or convoluted. By sticking to this principle, we ensure that our solutions are easy to understand and use for all.

Another important principle for us is the concept developed by Pareto. We understand that many projects involve a lot of work, but we strive to focus on the most important 20% that will bring the most value. This allows us to make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time, rather than spinning our wheels on unnecessary tasks.

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that true innovation comes from designing for everyone, not just a select few. By embracing diverse needs and perspectives, we are able to create solutions that are truly inclusive and accessible to all. This is not an afterthought for us but it is integrated from the beginning of every project we undertake.

We are committed to creating a more equitable future through design. Our guiding principles inform everything we do, from the projects we take on to the way we work with our clients. We strive to be a leader in the industry, pushing for real change and leaving behind incremental progress. Join us in our mission to create systems that work for everyone.
